MTB Foundation has recently presented its 15th Bravery and Courage Award to Maherin Chowdhury, Mashuka Begum, Mahfuza Khatun and Masuma Begum, who sacrificed their lives while trying to save the students from the raging fire at the Milestone School and College tragedy on July 21, 2025.

Their selfless acts of courage not only prevented greater loss of lives but also set an enduring example of bravery and motherhood, according to a media release.

Special crests and cheques were handed over to the family members of the four victims through a simple ceremony at the bank’s Corporate Head Office, MTB Centre, Gulshan 1, Dhaka 1212 in the presence of Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury, MTB Group Chairman, Khwaja Nargis Hossain, Director, Shib Narayan Kairy, Independent Director, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, AMD & GCRO, Rais Uddin Ahmad, DMD & CAMLCO of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) and Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of MTB Foundation.
