Thirty women entrepreneurs from Chattogram have successfully completed BRAC Bank’s flagship women empowerment programme ‘Amrai TARA’, held in collaboration with the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN).
The three-day training, conducted at the BRAC Learning Centre from September 22 to 24, 2025, focused on business capacity building, mentorship, and digital skills. Participants learned how to manage and scale their businesses, enhance their online presence, and build stronger market networks.
Munir Hasan, President of BdOSN, and Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Territory Manager for Small Business at BRAC Bank, attended the event.
Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, said women entrepreneurs are essential for inclusive economic growth. “When women succeed, their communities and the broader economy thrive. Through this programme, we aim to equip them with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to grow sustainably,” he added.
Supported by the Gates Foundation, ‘Amrai TARA’ is BRAC Bank’s nationwide initiative to build a robust ecosystem for women-led enterprises. So far, the bank has trained over 3,000 women entrepreneurs across 20 districts and plans to expand the programme to every district in Bangladesh.
