Jahangirnagar University and Southeast Bank PLC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce exclusive co-branded credit and prepaid cards for the university community.
Under the deal signed on September 4, Southeast Bank will issue lifetime free credit cards with suitable limits for faculty and staff, while students will receive prepaid cards offering online transaction facilities. The cards, featuring the university’s logo, will allow payments ranging from foreign university application fees to domestic and international transactions.
Treasurer Professor Dr. M Abdur Rab and Southeast Bank Deputy Managing Director Md. Masum Uddin Khan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
The signing ceremony, held at the university’s administrative building, was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamrul Ahsan as chief guest. He said the collaboration marks a milestone in strengthening ties between the two institutions and will expand technology-based financial inclusion for students and faculty.
Senior officials from both sides, including the university’s pro-vice chancellors, deans, teachers’ association leaders, and Southeast Bank’s senior executives, were also present.
