The government has approved the purchase of two cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the spot market at a total cost of Tk 1,000.85 crore.
The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase gave the clearance Tuesday. One cargo worth Tk 497.90 crore will arrive in November, supplied by Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Ltd at $11.85 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).
The second, costing Tk 502.95 crore, will be delivered in December by Gunvor Singapore Pte Ltd at $11.97 per MMBtu, according to officials of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
