Team Group, one of the country’s leading conglomerates, has been recognized as a Superbrand in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector.
The award was presented by Brand Forum Bangladesh at a ceremony held at Hotel Le Méridien in the capital on Saturday evening.
Team Group Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Abdullah Hil Nakib received the award. At the time, Team Pharmaceuticals COO M.A. Monsur and Twelve Clothing COO Md. Motiur Rahman were also present with other senior officials of Team Group.
Team Group began its journey in 2009 with apparel manufacturing and later expanded into apparel merchandising. The late Abdullahil Rakib, founder and managing director of the group, also established a local Lifestyle fashion brand Twelve Clothing, with the vision of transforming it into a global fashion label.
Currently, Twelve operates 44 outlets across the country and has developed a strong online presence, particularly in the USA and Canada.
Over the years, Team Group has diversified its operations into several other sectors, including pharmaceuticals, real estate, and ICT. Team Pharmaceuticals is currently exporting products to Afghanistan, Cambodia, and parts of Africa, while also catering to the local market.
Another concern of the group, Intellier, is a technology services company focused on delivering innovative applications and products across a range of software and hardware technologies. It is also involved in developing smart industry solutions and executes various government projects.
For his visionary leadership, Abdullahil Rakib received multiple prestigious awards during his lifetime, including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Philip Kotler, CEO of the Year by C-Suite, and Best Managing Director in Innovation by Brand Forum Bangladesh.
Commenting on the achievement, Team Group Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Abdullah Hil Nakib said, “This recognition as a Superbrand is a testament to our founder managing director’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth. We will continue to focus on building world-class brands while contributing to Bangladesh’s economy and creating value for our stakeholders. Taking forward his dreams through such initiatives is our way of showing love and respect for his vision.”
With around 24,000 employees, the group generates an annual turnover of approximately $750 million—including $315 million from apparel manufacturing and $430 million from trading.
More than 100 factories currently collaborate with Team Manufacturing Company Ltd (formerly Team Sourcing).
