BRAC Bank has completed a three-month-long foreign remittance campaign, where a remittance customer from Chattogram won the mega first prize: a Royal Enfield motorcycle.

The bank launched the campaign to encourage expatriate Bangladeshis to channel their hard-earned money through legal and secure channels. Through this customer engagement, the bank aims to reinforce its position as a leading player in the international remittance market in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

At the award ceremony, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, formally handed over the grand prize – a brand-new Royal Enfield Motorcycle – to Mohammad Naser, a valued customer of Muradpur Branch and the campaign’s top remittance customer.

Md. Shaheen Iqbal CFA, Deputy Managing Director & Head of Treasury and Financial Institutions; Shahrear Zamil, Head of Remittance and Probashi Banking; and senior officials of the bank were present at the ceremony.

The campaign, which ran from May 18 to July 31, 2025, was strategically timed to coincide with Eid ul-Azha, one of the peak remittance seasons. It offered a wide range of attractive prizes to reward loyal customers and increase engagement. Weekly winners received mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, power banks, earbuds, and gift coupons. Bi-weekly mega prizes included refrigerators, air conditioners, microwave ovens, and water purifiers. The campaign culminated with the grand prize, awarded to the customer who received the highest volume of remittance during the period.

Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, commented: “At BRAC Bank, we place strong strategic focus on facilitating the flow of foreign remittance. By broadening remittance-receiving accounts and strengthening cash pick-up facilities through our extensive network of branches, sub-branches, and agent banking outlets, we are working to channel greater volumes of foreign currency into the country. This initiative not only enhances the bank’s liquidity and supports vital sectors such as international trade, but also contributes to strengthening Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves, while raising public awareness on the importance of sending remittances through secure and legal channels.”

With remittance playing a pivotal role in foreign exchange reserves, the bank’s continued efforts in this area aim to empower customers, reward loyalty, drive financial inclusion, and sustain economic growth.

Through initiatives like the Remittance Campaign, BRAC Bank reaffirms its leadership in the remittance market and its commitment to serving millions of expatriate Bangladeshis and their families with secure, innovative, and customer-friendly solutions.
