Senior reporter of The Financial Express (FE) Mohammad Jubair Hasan wins the 2nd Silk Road Global News Award 2025 initiated by China under its flagship project Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The FE senior reporter has been honoured by the prestigious global recognition at the Best Reporting Award category of one of the world’s mega accolades in international journalism recently held in Kunming, Southwest China’s Yunnan Province.

Mr. Hasan was the first Bangladeshi journalist who received the award for his article titled ‘Should Bangladesh Build ‘Padma River Economic Belt’? YREB of China could be a Role.

The editor-in-chief of China’s People’s Daily Chen Jianwen handed over the trophy to the award winning FE senior journalist at a grand ceremony of 2nd Silk Road Global News Award 2025 hosted by Belt and Road News Network (BRNN) in collaboration of China’s leading newspaper People’s Daily.

Since its call for submissions from April 2024, the 2nd Silk Road Global News Awards received nearly 5,000 entries from 110 countries and regions. The awards recognised a total of 58 works from 37 countries under four categories—Best Reporting, Best Photography, Best Video, and Best Innovation.

All awards are initially evaluated by the academic committee, finalised by the judging committee, and then approved by the members of the BRNN council.
