Rupali Bank reaches $1 billion milestone in remittance collection

State-owned Rupali Bank PLC has, for the first time in a calendar year, achieved the milestone of collecting USD 1 billion in foreign remittances. On Monday (September 29), to mark this achievement, Managing Director Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam celebrated the success by cutting a cake along with officials at the bank’s head office in Dilkusha.

The Managing Director said this success was made possible by the trust of expatriates, modern remittance services, confidence of stakeholders, and above all, the dedication of officials engaged in remittance operations.

Deputy Managing Directors Parsuma Alam, Hasan Tanvir, and Md. Harunur Rashid were present at the event.

Also in attendance were General Managers Mohammad Shahjahan Chowdhury, Md. Ismail Hossain Sheikh, Mohammad Safayet Hossain, Salamun Nessa, Md. Monirul Haque, General Manager and Chief Information Technology Officer Md. Ohidul Islam Sarkar, Head of the Remittance Division A.K.M. Zakir Hossain, along with other senior officials of the bank.
