Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has organized a financial literacy program in Bogura to enhance the financial knowledge and business capabilities of female CMSME entrepreneurs, as part of its continued efforts to promote inclusive economic growth.
The event, held on Saturday at a local hotel, was arranged by the bank’s SME & Agri Investment Division from its Corporate Head Office, according to a press release.
The program aimed to support women-led CMSMEs by ensuring easier access to finance, boosting financial literacy, and encouraging employment-oriented, industry-driven economic development.
M. M. Saiful Islam, Deputy Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank, attended the event as the chief guest, while Professor Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, Founder Executive Director of TMSS, was the special guest.
Also present were Md. Abdur Rahim, Head of SME & Agri Investment Division; Md. Jahangir Alam, Regional Head of Bogura and Manager of Bogura Branch; along with managers from six other branches and head office officials.
During the session, participating women entrepreneurs shared their business experiences, challenges, and future plans, receiving practical guidance from bank officials.
Speaking at the event, M. M. Saiful Islam highlighted the vital role of women in the country’s economic growth and GDP, urging greater female participation in SME ventures.
He emphasized the importance of financial independence and entrepreneurial spirit among women, encouraging them to pursue success with dedication, confidence, and professionalism.
