Power Grid Bangladesh PLC has announced that it will not pay any dividend for the 2024–25 fiscal year, marking the second consecutive year the state-owned company has skipped shareholder payouts.
The decision, disclosed in a price-sensitive statement to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), will move Power Grid to the Z category for the first time under exchange regulations.
The company cited sustained financial losses as the reason behind its decision. In FY25, Power Grid reported a loss per share of Tk 2.30, following a deeper loss of Tk 6.69 in the previous year.
This marks the third straight year the power transmission operator has been in the red, reflecting ongoing challenges in its operations and revenue recovery.
