The 2026 editions of Techtextil and Texprocess—two of the world’s leading exhibitions for technical textiles and textile machinery—will begin on April 21 in Frankfurt, Germany, offering Bangladesh a major platform to move further into specialised, high-performance textile segments.

Organisers said the four-day fairs come at a time when global demand is shifting from basic garments to advanced materials. The events are expected to help Bangladesh explore new product categories, technologies, and applications that can support its transition beyond traditional apparel manufacturing.

Messe Frankfurt, the global organiser of textile trade shows, announced the upcoming fairs at a press conference in Dhaka.

At the briefing, Messe Frankfurt SP Bangladesh head of operations Romana Afroze said the dedicated Bangladesh pavilion—jointly organised by the Export Promotion Bureau and the BGMEA—will showcase leading producers of technical and value-added textiles, highlighting the industry’s growing capabilities in high-value manufacturing.

She noted that the fairs will continue to push innovation, sustainability, and technology adoption across the textile and apparel supply chain.

Bangladesh has been identified as one of the top five visitor countries for the 2026 editions. A strong delegation of companies, trade visitors, and sector representatives is expected to play a notable role on one of the largest global platforms for technical textiles, advanced fabrics, and garment machinery.

The combined exhibitions will present the full textile chain in one venue—from fibre production and advanced machinery to innovative fabrics, end-use applications, and recycling technologies.

Organisers said the fairs are particularly timely for Bangladesh as demand for technical textiles grows across healthcare, automotive, construction, and sports sectors.

Each year, more than 100 Bangladeshi visitors attend the fairs, connecting with exhibitors from Europe, Asia, and beyond. With 14 country pavilions at Techtextil and dedicated China and Taiwan pavilions at Texprocess, the events offer direct access to new materials, advanced machinery, and emerging global trends.

Such participation is expected to strengthen Bangladesh’s position in sustainable, high-performance textile production while opening new avenues for collaboration, technology transfer, and international market expansion.
