Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has secured three honours at the MasterCard Excellence Awards 2025, recognising its strong performance in both domestic and cross-border card transactions, according to a press release.
The bank received awards for:
- Excellence in MasterCard Prepaid Business (Cross-Border)
- Excellence in MasterCard Debit Business (Cross-Border)
- Excellence in MasterCard Debit Business (Domestic)
The accolades were based on transaction performance during the 2024–25 fiscal year. MasterCard presented the awards at a ceremony held on 22 November 2025 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H. Mansur was present at the event, while Deputy Governor Md Zakir Hossain Chowdhury handed over the awards to Md Mosharraf Hossain, executive vice president of Islami Bank.
MasterCard South Asia President Gautam Aggarwal, Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal, and Islami Bank Executive Vice President Md Maznuzzaman attended the ceremony, along with managing directors and senior executives from banks, fintechs and corporate organisations across the country.
