BRAC has opened applications for a new cycle of its BRIDGE Returnship Programme, designed to support women seeking to re-enter the workforce after a career break.
The six-month initiative offers structured, paid work exposure alongside professional mentoring and career development support, helping participants transition back into formal employment and sustain their careers over the long term.
Under the programme, returnees will be placed across various BRAC initiatives, where they will contribute to areas such as project management, research and operational support. The hands-on experience is intended to rebuild professional confidence while providing exposure to organisational systems and processes.
“Taking a break from a career does not mean a lack of talent or ability. The BRIDGE Returnship is designed for women who want to re-enter professional life and rediscover their potential. It is not just a return to work, but a bridge to strengthening social and professional identity,” said Moutushi Kabir, senior director for people, culture and communications at BRAC.
She added that the organisation hopes such returnship models will become widely accepted across Bangladesh, removing barriers for women resuming careers after extended breaks.
The programme also emphasises networking, linking participants with professionals from NGOs, private companies and leading corporate institutions to help them explore career paths aligned with their skills and experience.
Applicants must have at least three years of prior professional experience, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and a career break of at least one year.
Applications for the BRIDGE Returnship Programme are open until 21 January 2026.
