Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased again, with 22-carat gold rising by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams) to reach Tk 261,040, effective from 10:00 am on Monday, February 23, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced.

The latest hike follows an earlier increase on February 21, when 22-carat gold rose by Tk 3,266 per bhori to Tk 258,824. Within just two days, rates have been revised upward once more, reflecting higher costs of pure gold in the local market.

The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring approved the adjustment, according to a press release signed by the committee chairman, Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.

Along with 22-carat gold, other varieties also saw price increases: 21-carat gold rose by Tk 2,041 to Tk 249,143 per bhori, 18-carat gold increased by Tk 1,808 to Tk 213,568, and traditionally made gold went up by Tk 1,458 to Tk 174,785 per bhori.

Silver prices, however, remained stable. The rates for 22-carat, 21-carat, and 18-carat silver are Tk 6,707, Tk 6,415, and Tk 5,482 per bhori respectively, while traditionally produced silver stands at Tk 4,082 per bhori.
