A steady stream of fuel shipments has reached Chittagong Port this month, with 22 vessels carrying LNG, LPG and refined petroleum products arriving in the first 17 days.
Port data show at least four more energy vessels are scheduled to arrive in the coming days, while several others are currently en route to Chattogram.
Among the incoming shipments are LNG carriers Lebrethah from Qatar and Prachi from Australia, along with fuel oil tankers Lady of Doria and SC Gold Ocean from Singapore. Additional vessels expected later this month include LNG carrier Sonagol Benguela from Angola, base oil tanker AB Olivia from Thailand, and LPG carriers BWEK Bornholm and Morning Jane.
Officials said fuel handling operations at the port are continuing smoothly, with measures in place to ensure uninterrupted unloading and distribution.
“Fuel handling operations are running smoothly, and additional vessels will further strengthen supply,” said a senior official of the Chittagong Port Authority.
Two vessels—Chang Hang Hong Tu and LPG Seven—are currently discharging cargo and are expected to complete unloading within the week, helping maintain a steady flow of energy supplies across the country.
The continued arrival of fuel-laden ships highlights stable energy imports despite ongoing geopolitical tensions affecting global shipping routes, offering support to the country’s fuel supply chain.
