Workers’ remittance inflows to Bangladesh rose 15.34 percent year-on-year to $3.43 billion in May 2026, according to data released by Bangladesh Bank on Monday.
The country received $3.43 billion in remittances during the month, up from $2.97 billion in May last year, reflecting continued reliance on formal channels by expatriate Bangladeshis to send money home.
In the final eight days of May alone, remittance inflows stood at $448.97 million.
Data from the central bank also showed that total remittance inflows during the first 11 months of FY26 reached $32.76 billion, marking a 19.09 percent increase from $27.51 billion recorded during the same period of FY25.
