Dhaka, July 20 – Leading Chinese ceramic manufacturers and technology experts have expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh’s ceramic sector and sharing technical expertise, aiming to foster long-term bilateral cooperation.
The interest was voiced during the Asian Ceramics Technology 50 Forum, jointly organised by the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA) and Foshan Uniceramics Expo, held today at Hotel Amari, Dhaka.
Held under the theme “Product Quality & Production Efficiency Enhancement and Investment Opportunities in Bangladesh – Win-Win Cooperation,” the forum brought together industry stakeholders, technical specialists, and top executives from both countries.
In his welcome address, Irfan Uddin, General Secretary of BCMEA, highlighted the importance of such events in building cross-border collaboration. “China’s technological advancement in ceramics serves as a model for us,” he said.
Md Mamunur Rashid, Acting President of BCMEA, outlined the growing potential of Bangladesh’s ceramic sector and the government’s investor-friendly policies, including fiscal incentives and infrastructure support.
The daylong forum featured three technical sessions focused on quality improvement, production efficiency, cost management, and investment prospects. Experts from both Bangladesh and China presented innovative technologies and shared best practices in manufacturing and equipment management.
Representing China, Li Xinliang, President of Ceramic Town Weekly and GM of Foshan Uniceramics Development Co. Ltd, and Luo Fei, a ceramic equipment specialist, highlighted China’s capabilities and readiness to collaborate.
From Bangladesh, senior officials from Akij Ceramics, DBL Ceramics, Meghna Ceramic Industries, and LankaBangla Investments shared insights on the industry’s current landscape and future outlook. Abdul Hakim Sumon, Senior Vice President of BCMEA, also addressed the forum.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation, improving production standards, and facilitating investment-driven growth in Bangladesh’s ceramic industry.
