In today’s board meeting of The City Bank PLC, Director Hossain Khaled was elected as the new Chairman of the bank.
Hossain Khaled is a sponsor director of The City Bank. He previously served as the Vice Chairman of the bank for seven years. He is also a member of the Board’s Executive Committee and Risk Management Committee. Additionally, he currently serves as the Chairman of two subsidiaries of the bank — City Brokerage Limited and City Hong Kong Limited.
Mr. Khaled has served four terms as the President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). He was also the Co-Chairman of the Bangladesh Better Business Forum and the founding President of the Bangladesh Chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO).
He holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Toledo in Ohio, USA, and an MBA in International Banking from Texas A&M University.
His father, Mr. Anwar Hossain, the founder of Anwar Group of Industries, was also one of the principal sponsor directors of The City Bank and served as its Chairman for four terms. Hossain Khaled is currently serving as the Group Managing Director of Anwar Group of Industries.
