Shares at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened lower today, extending a three-day losing streak amid cautious investor sentiment.
By 11:34 am, the benchmark DSEX fell 11.89 points, or 0.22%, to 5,367.51. The Shariah-compliant DSES slipped 0.22% to 1,174.97, while the blue-chip DS30 index dropped 0.26% to 2,080.77.
Market turnover was modest at Tk 288.13 crore, reflecting limited investor activity. Market breadth remained negative, with 119 stocks advancing, 185 declining, and 87 unchanged.
Among individual movers, Information Services Network led the gainers, surging 10%, while Peoples Leasing and Fin Services was the biggest loser, down 5%.
Analysts said the cautious trend reflects ongoing uncertainty in the market, with investors closely watching corporate earnings and macroeconomic indicators.
