Al-Arafah Islami Bank holds workshop on RMG financing

Bank officials urged to explore new opportunities and ensure Shariah compliance

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC organized a day-long workshop on “Ready-Made Garments (RMG) Financing” on November 8, 2025, aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of officials engaged in export and RMG-related banking activities.

Managing Director (Acting) Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan attended the program as the chief guest, while Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Al Mamun was also present.

In his address, Rafat Ullah Khan emphasized the crucial role of the RMG sector in Bangladesh’s economy, noting its contributions to foreign currency earnings, employment generation, and overall economic growth.

He urged bank officials to expand new RMG business opportunities, strengthen recovery efforts for overdue investments, and maintain transparency and promptness in services while ensuring strict adherence to Shariah principles.

The workshop was chaired by Md. Abdur Rahim Duary, Principal of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI). Senior executives of the bank joined the event, which was attended by 56 officials from RMG and export-related departments.
