Al-Arafah Islami Bank, one of the country’s leading Shariah-based banks, has entered into a strategic partnership with mobile financial services provider Nagad to strengthen digital financial inclusion.
Under the deal, customers will be able to transfer funds from the bank’s internet banking platform to Nagad accounts, as well as make various bank payments directly through the MFS platform, according to a press release.
The signing ceremony was held on Wednesday (September 3) at Al-Arafah Islami Bank’s head office. Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan, Managing Director (Current Charges) of the bank, and Md. Habibur Rahman, Associate Administrator of Nagad, were present at the event.
The agreement was signed by S.M. Abu Jafar, Deputy Managing Director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank, and Md. Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan, Chief Commercial Officer (Current Charges) of Nagad.
Also present were Md. Soheb Ahmed, Executive Vice President & CTO (Current Charges) of Al-Arafah Islami Bank; Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Head of Digital Banking Division; Md. Saidur Rahman Dipu, Head of Business Sales at Nagad; and Istiaq Ahmed Shawon, Head of Bank, FI, MFI and NBFI at Nagad, alongside other senior officials from both institutions.
