An 11-member delegation from the International Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh (ICCB), led by President Mahbubur Rahman, departed Dhaka on Sunday for Melbourne, Australia, to participate in the 14th ICC World Chambers Congress (WCC) scheduled for September 2-4.
Tanvir Ahmed, Managing Director of Green Textile, will represent Bangladesh as a speaker, highlighting the country’s growing presence in the global business arena. Following the Congress, the delegation will visit ICC New Zealand and the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to hold discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Other delegation members include AK Azad, Vice President of ICC Bangladesh; Anwar-Ul-Alam Chowdhury, Managing Director of Evince Group; Kutubuddin Ahmed, Chairman of Envoy Textiles; Md Arshad Ali, Managing Director of The Merchants Limited; Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, Managing Director of DBL Group; Engr Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed, Managing Director of Saiham Cotton Mills Limited; Matiur Rahman, Chairman & MD of Uttara Group; Simeen Rahman, CEO of Transcom Group; and Ataur Rahman, Secretary General of ICC Bangladesh. The delegation is expected to return on September 10.
Organised biennially by the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) in partnership with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the premier global forum brings together over 1,000 business, chamber, and political leaders from more than 100 countries. This year’s theme, “Business, Chambers, Government: Partners for Prosperity”, emphasizes collaboration among businesses, chambers, and governments to drive sustained economic growth.
The Congress will focus on key areas including geopolitical shifts, clean energy transitions, digital leadership, life sciences, workforce evolution, and resilience in global trade, providing an unparalleled platform for exchanging best practices, sharing market insights, and fostering cross-border networks.
