The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is set to develop an AI-enabled ESG compliance framework called the “Digital Factory Passport (DFP)” to enhance transparency, accountability, and global competitiveness in the country’s readymade garment industry.
In this regard, BGMEA and Digital Bridge Partners (DBP) have announced a strategic cooperation, following a meeting held at the BGMEA headquarters in Uttara on Sunday.
According to a statement, the Digital Factory Passport will function as a unified digital tool to streamline factory-level data management and reporting, reduce audit fatigue, and improve efficiency in sustainability performance monitoring.
By adopting a standardised and AI-driven approach, the initiative aims to help factories better align with international buyers’ ESG requirements and future-proof Bangladesh’s position as a leading global sourcing hub.
Speaking at the event, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan underscored the need for innovation and digital transformation in achieving sustainability within the apparel sector.
Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan, Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan, and representatives from Digital Bridge Partners were also present at the meeting. DBP representatives reaffirmed their commitment to assisting the industry in achieving greater efficiency and transparency through digital solutions, the statement added.
