City Bank and Guardian Life Insurance Limited have launched Bangladesh’s first digital insurance service through a banking app, allowing customers to buy and manage policies directly on City Bank’s mobile platform, Citytouch.

With this new feature, users can browse insurance products, purchase policies instantly, and even submit claims—all from a single app. The initiative marks a step forward in merging banking and insurance services to offer greater convenience and financial security.

“Making insurance simple is a challenge, but it’s vital to help people protect their lives and dreams,” said Guardian’s acting CEO Sheikh Rakibul Karim. “By integrating advanced technology and digital innovations, we are ensuring fast, reliable, and hassle-free services.”

City Bank’s Deputy Managing Director Md. Arup Haider noted that the bank was the first to introduce Bancassurance in Bangladesh. “It was a natural progression to be the pioneering bank to bring insurance products directly on our app, giving customers a broader range of financial solutions,” he said.
