Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Partners with CEAN Global to Drive Green and Sustainability Leadership

Dhaka, Bangladesh – October 18, 2025 – Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. has signed a strategic partnership with the Climate and ESG Assurance Network (CEAN Global) to strengthen its commitment to green banking, climate risk management, and sustainable finance and investment. Through this collaboration, supported by CEAN Global, Community Bank will integrate advanced ESGC (Environmental, Social, Governance, and Climate) practices into its operations and lending portfolio. The initiative aligns with the Bank’s commitment to deliver as per the global frameworks such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Bangladesh Bank’s sustainable finance guidelines. The collaboration is a significant progress in achieving Community Bank’s vision and commitment to becoming a sustainability leader
in Bangladesh and beyond.

Under the partnership, CEAN Global will provide assurance, second-party opinions (SPOs), and digital measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) services to Community Bank via its independent technical review board. Further areas include supporting the development of a climate and sustainability-aligned framework and strategic action plan, ESGC exposure and carbon footprint assessment, sustainability (S1, S2, S3) reporting system guidance, and capacity-building to enhance sustainability awareness and understanding among bank officials.

The agreement was signed by Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC., and Professor Dr. Suborna Barua, President of CEAN Global.
The signing ceremony took place at Community Bank’s Head Office in Dhaka, in the presence of Dr. Md. Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch); Hasi Rani Bepari, Head of CRM, Community Bank; and Dr. Aditi Shams, Advisor, Assurance Services, CEAN Global; along with
other senior officials from both organizations.
