Dhaka Bank PLC. officially launched Bangladesh’s first AI-driven digital loan “eRin Device APP”, for smartphones and smart devices, aimed at making technology more affordable and accessible for service professionals, micro-entrepreneurs, and underserved and unserved communities.
On 24th September, 2025, Mr. A K M Shahnawaj, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Dhaka Bank PLC. and Mr. Jungmin Jung, Head of Bangladesh Branch, Samsung Electronics, officially launched the “Dhaka Bank e Rin Device APP” with a grand ceremony, according to a media release.
The launching event was graced by prominent leaders from Bangladesh’s financial and telecom sectors.
Md. Iqbal Mohasin, Director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank, Mahmud Hossain, Commissioner of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Mr. Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink, Mr. Mohammad Syfuddin Tipu, Executive Director, Excel Telecom Pvt. Limited, Dr. Sarwar Jahan Morshed, PhD Managing Director, Infinia Tech Limited, Mr. A M M Moyen Uddin, Deputy Managing Director (Operations), Mr. Sheikh Abdul Bakir, Deputy Managing Director, Md. Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director (CEMO) Dhaka Bank, Mr. Akhlaqur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Banking), were present in the inauguration ceremony.
Mr. A K M Shahnawaj, Managing Director (Current Charge), Dhaka Bank PLC, stated, “The eRin Device is more than just a loan—it is a gateway to digital empowerment, enabling connectivity, education, and entrepreneurship for the unbanked and underserved.”
Mr. Jungmin Jung, Head of Bangladesh Branch, Samsung Electronics, noted that the collaboration removes barriers to traditional credit, and the service will soon be available at selected Samsung authorized stores.
Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer, Banglalink, said the partnership will accelerate smartphone penetration and digital adoption.
Mohammad Syfuddin Tipu, Executive Director, Excel Telecom Pvt. Limited, expressed excitement about empowering consumers with flexible Samsung device financing, while Dr. Sarwar Jahan Morshed, PhD Managing Director, Infinia Tech Limited, highlighted the platform’s combination of AI, FinTech innovation, and inclusive lending.
