Dhaka stocks staged a rebound in early trading today, snapping a four-day losing streak amid renewed investor interest.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose 36.54 points, or 0.68 percent, to 5,387.57 by 11:36 am. The Shariah-compliant DSES gained 0.68 percent to 1,170.35, while the blue-chip DS30 advanced 0.68 percent to 2,080.82.
Turnover — a key gauge of market activity — stood at Tk 248.44 crore during the session. Market breadth was positive, with 269 issues advancing, 68 declining, and 56 remaining unchanged.
Among the top movers, Mithun Knitting and Dyeing led the gainers’ list with a 10 percent surge, while Bangladesh Lamps topped the losers’ list, falling 3 percent.
