Stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained in early trading today, marking a second consecutive session of modest rises.
The DSEX, the bourse’s benchmark index, rose 4.51 points, or 0.08 percent, to 5,640.66 by 11:52 am. The Shariah-compliant DSES inched up 0.11 percent to 1,230.86, while the blue-chip DS30 added 0.06 percent to 2,189.54.
Turnover, a key gauge of investor activity, reached Tk 694.45 crore. Market breadth was mixed, with 165 issues advancing, 174 declining, and 54 unchanged.
Among notable moves, Associated Oxygen led the gainers, climbing 10 percent, while Trust Islami Life Insurance fell 9 percent, posting the session’s steepest drop.
