Dhaka stocks rebounded in early trading today, halting a three-day slide as buying activity picked up across sectors.
By 11:04 am, the DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, was up 8.82 points, or 0.16 percent, at 5,416.89. The Shariah-compliant DSES advanced 0.6 percent to 1,177.50, while the blue-chip DS30 slipped 0.24 percent to 2,092.59.
Turnover reached Tk 212.09 crore during the session, indicating a modest improvement in investor participation.
Market sentiment leaned positive, with 198 stocks gaining, 86 losing, and 103 remaining unchanged. Apex Tannery led the rally, surging 10 percent, while Central Insurance Company was the day’s worst performer, falling 2 percent.
