The Dhaka Stock Exchange maintained its upward momentum in early trading today, with the benchmark DSEX index surpassing the 5,000-point threshold for the first time since 23 April, signaling renewed investor confidence.
As of 11:38 am, the DSEX advanced 46.80 points, or 0.93%, to reach 5,028.43. This marks the fifth consecutive day of gains in the country’s premier stock index.
Other key indices also recorded positive movement:
- 📈 DSES (Shariah-compliant index): Rose 0.75% to 1,091.99
- 💼 DS30 (blue-chip index): Gained 0.41% to 1,883.23

Market turnover stood at Tk 268.18 crore, indicating active trading across sectors.
Out of the 394 issues traded:
- ✅ 310 advanced
- ❌ 28 declined
- 🔄 56 remained unchanged
Top gainer of the session was Rahim Textile Mills, which jumped 9%, while SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund recorded the largest drop, falling 4%.
