Dutch-Bangla Bank and its partner Pragati Life Insurance have handed over its first insurance claim upon the tragic demise of a customer. The handover ceremony took place at the bank’s Head Office.
A cheque covering claim amount was handed over to the nominee of the deceased policyholder. DBBL is taking the lead in the Bancassurance business in Bangladesh, with the aim of bringing more people under insurance coverage. DBBL has sold a total of 8,306 policies as of October 20, 2025, and its market share in the Bancassurance business currently stands at 41%, which is the highest among peer banks in Bangladesh.
The event was attended by Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Managing Director and CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank, and Mr. M. J. Azim, Managing Director and CEO of Pragati Life Insurance, along with other senior officials from both organizations.
The event reflects the bank’s strong commitment to providing the customer with excellent service across the country.
