Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) has decided to acquire a 21.5-storey commercial tower in Dhaka’s Motijheel business district for Tk1,016 crore to serve as its new corporate head office.
The bank disclosed the decision in a filing to the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Tuesday, noting that the purchase will proceed pending approval from Bangladesh Bank.
DBBL, one of the country’s largest private lenders, saw its profits shrink in 2024, with consolidated net earnings dropping to Tk473 crore from Tk800 crore a year earlier.
Following the announcement, the bank’s shares edged down 1.43% in today’s opening session to Tk41.3.
