A high-level delegation from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh, led by its President Mahbubur Rahman, visited Auckland from 5 to 9 September to strengthen trade and investment ties with New Zealand.

During the visit, the team held a meeting on 8 September with Simon Bridges, Secretary General of ICC New Zealand and Chief Executive Officer of the Auckland Business Chamber. The discussions focused on boosting Bangladesh’s exports of ready-made garments, pharmaceuticals, and leather products to New Zealand, as well as exploring new investment prospects.

Mahbubur Rahman invited Mr Bridges to visit Bangladesh with a business delegation to deepen engagement, promising opportunities to tour export processing zones and industrial units. “A direct visit will help showcase the strength of Bangladesh’s industries and highlight avenues for cooperation,” he said.

The delegation included ICC Bangladesh Vice President A.K. Azad, DBL Group Managing Director Mohammed Abdul Jabbar, Uttara Group Chairman and Managing Director Matiur Rahman, Saiham Cotton Mills Managing Director Engr. Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed, and ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman.

The visit marked an important step toward expanding Bangladesh’s trade footprint in non-traditional markets and fostering stronger bilateral economic relations with New Zealand.
