Janata Bank PLC celebrated its annual youth festival, “Tarunyer Utsab 2025,” on October 19, 2025 (Sunday), marking the occasion with the launch of two major digital services — the NFC-enabled ‘Taka Pay Card’ and the ‘e-Credit Management System’ for digital loan processing.
Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, attended the event as chief guest and inaugurated the customer service lounge and NFC-enabled Taka Pay Card. Nazma Mobarek, Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division under the Ministry of Finance, was present as special guest and formally launched the e-Credit Management System, a platform designed to digitize and streamline the bank’s lending operations.
The event was chaired by Md Fazlur Rahman, Chairman of Janata Bank, while Md Mozibur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO, highlighted the bank’s recent progress and strategic priorities. Deputy Managing Directors Md Golam Mortuza, Md Fayez Alam, Md Nazmul Islam, and Md Ashraful Alam, along with other senior executives, also attended the ceremony.
During the program, Dr. Anisuzzaman emphasized the need to expand credit flow to the SME sector, calling it vital for economic growth. Secretary Nazma Mobarek urged bank officials to ensure due diligence and proper client assessment before loan disbursement to maintain credit discipline.
Chairman Fazlur Rahman said the introduction of the e-Credit Management System would make loan processing “fully digital, transparent, and efficient.”
Managing Director Mozibur Rahman reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to strengthening Janata Bank’s foundation and overcoming current challenges through modernization and innovation.
