Remittance Inflow Jumps 28.5% in First Half of September

Expatriates send $1.67b in 16 days; $6.57b so far this fiscal

Bangladesh received $1.67 billion in remittances in the first 16 days of September, marking a 28.5% year-on-year rise, according to Bangladesh Bank data released on Tuesday.

During the same period last year, inflows stood at $1.30 billion.

From July to September 16 of FY2025-26, expatriates sent a total of $6.57 billion, up from $5.44 billion in the corresponding period of FY2024-25, reflecting sustained growth in overseas workers’ transfers.
