Bangladesh’s remittance inflow jumped 48.9 percent year-on-year in the first three days of November, reaching US$350 million, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.

During the same period last year, expatriates had sent $221 million.

From July to November 3 of the current fiscal year, total remittances stood at $10.48 billion, up from $9.16 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.

The sharp rise reflects continued strong inflows from Bangladeshi workers abroad, giving a boost to the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
