Rajshahi, September 25, 2025: To make traffic fine collection more transparent and citizen-friendly, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has launched a new system in collaboration with Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. The initiative was formally introduced today following the signing of a bilateral agreement between the two institutions.
The signing ceremony was held at 4:00 PM at the Grand Riverview Chinese Restaurant’s conference hall in Rajshahi. Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Abu Sufian signed on behalf of RMP, while Mr. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank, represented the Bank. Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, PPM (Bar), PhD, was also present.
Following the signing, Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Abu Sufian officially inaugurated the new traffic fine collection service. He stated, “This initiative has been taken to reduce harassment, minimize suffering, and ensure maximum transparency in the payment of traffic fines. From now on, in addition to cash, fines can be paid using Community Bank’s debit and credit cards, as well as bKash. This will make traffic management more dynamic.”
The event was attended by senior officials including Rajshahi Metropolitan Deputy Police Commissioner (Promoted to the Rank of Additional DIG-designate) Mohammad Khorshed Alam, PPM; Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Noor Alam Siddiky, along with senior officers of RMP. From Community Bank, Dr. Md. Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch), Zahir Ahmed, Head of Cards, and Md. Mamunur Rahman, Head of ADC and Head of MD’s Coordination Team, were present.
Earlier in the day, at 11:00 AM, a training workshop on “E-Traffic Prosecution and Fine Collection” was held at the In-Service Training Center in Rajshahi. The session, attended by traffic inspectors and sergeants of RMP and District Police, focused on simplifying the process of digital prosecution and fine payment.
