Shari`ah-based Standard Bank PLC held its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday at the Police Convention Hall, Eskaton Garden Road, Ramna, Dhaka, according to a press release.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mohammed Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the bank.

The AGM was attended by Vice Chairman A K M Abdul Alim, Director & Founder Vice Chairman Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, Directors Mohammad Manjur Alam, Ashok Kumar Saha, Ferozur Rahman, S.A.M. Hossain, Al-haj Mohammed Shamsul Alam, Gulzar Ahmed, Md. Zahedul Hoque, Ferdous Ali Khan, and Jhahedul Alam, Independent Director Golam Hafiz Ahmed, and Dr. Muhammad Saifullah, Chairman of the Shari`ah Supervisory Committee.
From the management, Md. Habibur Rahman, Managing Director; Mohammad Salah Uddin, FCS, Chief Financial Officer; and Md. Mizanur Rahman, FCS, Company Secretary, were present. Observers from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan and Alamgir Kabir — along with the bank’s external auditor, also participated. A large number of shareholders, guests, and well-wishers attended the event.
Meeting Highlights
The Annual Report 2024, the Directors’ Report, and the audited financial statements for the previous fiscal year were presented and unanimously approved during the meeting.
In his remarks, Chairman Mohammed Abdul Aziz expressed gratitude to shareholders and guests for their continued support. He voiced optimism about the bank’s growth prospects, saying profits are expected to rise further in the coming years, enabling the bank to offer attractive dividends. He also urged employees to work with greater dedication to help achieve these goals.
Managing Director Md. Habibur Rahman welcomed all participants at the outset of the meeting and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to expanding Shari`ah-compliant banking services while strengthening customer trust and satisfaction.
