Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) will implement a new set of rules regarding ATM transaction fees and withdrawal limits starting 1 September, in line with recent directives from the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank.
Under the new policy, SCB customers using other banks’ ATM booths will be allowed to withdraw up to BDT 200,000 per month using debit cards. The maximum per transaction limit will be BDT 20,000.
For such interbank ATM withdrawals, the first five transactions each month will incur a fee of BDT 15 per transaction. From the sixth transaction onward, the fee will increase to BDT 30 per transaction.
However, SCB employee customers will enjoy additional benefits. They will receive six free interbank ATM transactions per month, after which the BDT 30 fee per transaction will apply from the seventh transaction onward.
Withdrawals from SCB’s own ATMs will remain free of charge. Depending on the type of debit card, customers will be able to withdraw up to BDT 300,000 to BDT 500,000 per day from SCB’s booths.
