Indices at both Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges opened on a positive note Monday as most company shares edged higher in early trade.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX gained 8 points in the first hour, while the Shariah-based DSES remained flat. The blue-chip DS30, however, slipped by 2 points.
Market data showed that out of 388 issues traded, 211 advanced, 103 declined and 74 remained unchanged, with turnover exceeding Tk 1.85 billion.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also moved up, with its key index rising 18 points. Of the 72 issues traded, 36 gained, 26 fell and 10 remained flat. Turnover at the port city bourse crossed Tk 20 million.
