Two vessels carrying a combined 66,000 tonnes of diesel arrived at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port early Wednesday, boosting the country’s fuel import pipeline.
The ships—MT Torm Damini carrying 32,000 tonnes and MT Lucia Solis with 34,000 tonnes—reached the anchorage around 2 am, according to port and shipping sources.
A pilot boat later escorted MT Lucia Solis through the Karnaphuli River channel to Dolphin Jetty No. 5 in Patenga, following standard port procedures that allow navigation during high tide with the help of pilots and tugboats.
The diesel cargo was supplied by Singapore-based traders Unipac Singapore and Vittal Asia.
MT Torm Damini is scheduled to be brought alongside Dolphin Jetty No. 6 on Thursday for unloading.
Officials said the latest shipments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen fuel supply and ensure stability in the domestic market amid rising demand pressures.
