Mohammad Hasan Arif Named EPB Vice-Chairman

Seasoned trade official takes charge to boost Bangladesh’s exports

Mohammad Hasan Arif, an Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). He assumed office on September 15, 2025.

Arif previously served in key roles at the Economic Relations Division, including as Wing Chief of the Administration & Middle East and the America & Japan wings. He was also Commercial Counsellor at Bangladesh’s embassy in Tokyo and represented the country as an Alternate Governor at the Islamic Development Bank.

A member of the 18th BCS Administration Cadre (1999), Arif has worked in field administration, government ministries, and agencies. He has been a board member of the IsDB-BISEW, the Institute of Public Finance, and the SME Foundation.

Certified as a Public-Private Partnership Professional (CP3P), Arif is known for expertise in export promotion, trade facilitation, and investment development.

“The government has entrusted me with facilitating exporters to diversify their markets. I hope to achieve this with support from all stakeholders,” Arif said, expressing confidence that his experience will help drive growth in Bangladesh’s export sector.
