The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for submitting individual income tax returns by another month, citing the upcoming parliamentary election.
Under a special order issued on Thursday, taxpayers will now be able to file their returns for the 2025–26 tax year until February 28.
This marks the third extension of the filing deadline. The original cutoff date was November 30, which was first extended to December 31, then to January 31, before being pushed further to the end of February.
The move is aimed at easing compliance for taxpayers amid election-related disruptions and ensuring wider participation in the tax filing process.
