Dhaka, July 28, 2025 — Bank Asia Ltd has reported a sharp 41% year-on-year decline in net profit for the April–June quarter of 2025, according to a disclosure filed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday.
The bank’s consolidated earnings per share (EPS) for the second quarter dropped to Tk 0.99, compared to Tk 1.68 in the same period last year, reflecting a significant downturn in quarterly profitability.
Despite the quarterly decline, the bank managed to maintain stability over the six-month period. For the first half of 2025, its consolidated EPS stood at Tk 2.29—marginally higher than Tk 2.26 recorded during the same period in 2024.
The bank has not yet disclosed detailed reasons behind the profit drop in the second quarter.
