Dhaka and Chattogram bourses opened higher on Tuesday, extending their upward momentum with most company shares advancing.
At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX index rose 16 points in early trading, while the Shariah-based DSES gained 7 points and the blue-chip DS30 added 9 points.
Market breadth at the DSE was positive, with 232 issues advancing, 78 declining, and 65 remaining unchanged. Turnover stood at more than Tk 170 crore in the early session.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also moved higher, with its overall index climbing 32 points. Of the issues traded, 24 advanced, 13 declined, and 7 remained unchanged, while transaction volume reached around Tk 2.4 crore in the first half-hour of trading.
