bKash, in collaboration with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, has extended its book reading programme to Lakshmipur and Feni to foster a love for reading among students. This year, the initiative will distribute 40,000 books to 330 schools across the country.
Books were handed over to students at schools including Collectorate School and College, Lakshmipur Collegiate High School, Govt. Girls’ High School, Ziaul Hoque High School and College, Poura Shahid Smrity High School, and Ramganj High School in Lakshmipur, and Feni Poura Balika Biddya Niketan, Feni Shishu Niketan Collectorate School, Feni Girish-Akshay Academy, Holy Crescent School, and Feni Central High School in Feni.
The handovers took place during events at Lakshmipur Town Hall and Shilpakala Academy in Feni, with Rajib Kumar Sarkar, Deputy Commissioner of Lakshmipur, and Saiful Islam, District Commissioner of Feni, distributing the books. Humayun Kabir, EVP and Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs of bKash, and Khandakar Md. Asaduzzaman, retired secretary and former trustee of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, also attended.
To engage students further, a quiz competition for grades 6 to 10 was organised, with 80 winners receiving prizes.
