BRAC Bank has completed two rounds of its flagship women entrepreneurship training programme, ‘Amrai TARA’, empowering 60 aspiring women entrepreneurs in Patuakhali and Khagrachhari.

Held in November, the three-day programmes brought together 30 women from each district for intensive, hands-on training designed to strengthen business capabilities and prepare them for competitive markets, according to a media release.

The training covered core areas such as financial literacy, digital skills, business planning, and market exploration, blending theory with practical tools that participants can apply directly to their enterprises.

In Patuakhali, Nazmul Haq, Regional Head of Small Business at BRAC Bank’s SME Division, interacted with the participants and urged them to turn learning into measurable business growth. In Khagrachhari, Md Zakarea, Senior Business Development Manager of the SME Division, highlighted the strong potential of women-led businesses in the Chattogram Hill Tracts and encouraged the entrepreneurs to scale their ventures confidently.

‘Amrai TARA’ is BRAC Bank’s nationwide platform dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs. Backed by the Gates Foundation, the initiative focuses on long-term empowerment through skill development, mentorship, improved access to markets, and enhanced financial readiness.

Through programmes like these, BRAC Bank aims to help women entrepreneurs move from ambition to action—strengthening local economies while promoting inclusive growth across the country.
