The country’s main seaport, Chittagong Port, will remain operational during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays despite the closure of government offices, banks and financial institutions.

Authorities said port activities will continue under special management throughout the holiday period to keep trade and cargo movement uninterrupted.

However, operations will be temporarily suspended from 8:00am to 4:00pm on Eid day only.

“Chittagong port will remain open during the Eid holidays. Operational activities will be suspended from 8:00am to 4:00pm on Eid day, while on other days the port will run under special arrangements,” said a senior official of the Chittagong Port Authority.

The move aims to ensure smooth handling of import and export cargo during the extended holiday period and avoid disruption in the supply chain.
