The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has revised its CSE-30 Index as part of its semi-annual review, adding three companies and removing three others based on their latest performance metrics. The updated index will take effect on December 18.
The newly included companies are National Credit and Commerce Bank, Pioneer Insurance Company, and Sonali Paper & Board Mills. Replacing them on the exclusion list are NRBC Bank, Sena Insurance, and The Premier Bank.
Following the revision, the CSE-30 Index will comprise the following companies: Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills, Bangladesh Submarine Cables, Beximco Pharmaceuticals, BRAC Bank, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, BSRM Steels, City Bank, Crown Cement, DBH Finance, Delta Life Insurance Company, Eastern Bank, Eastern Housing, IDLC Finance, IT Consultants, Jamuna Oil Company, Meghna Petroleum, MJL Bangladesh, National Credit and Commerce Bank, Olympic Industries, Padma Oil Company, Pioneer Insurance Company, Prime Bank, Sonali Paper & Board Mills, Square Pharmaceuticals, Square Textiles, The ACME Laboratories, Unique Hotel & Resorts, Uttara Bank, and Walton Hi-Tech Industries.
According to the CSE, the blue-chip companies represented in the index account for 41.17 per cent of the exchange’s free-float market capitalisation.
