The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has raised retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas and autogas for February, increasing household and transport fuel costs.

Under the revised rates, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has been set at Tk 1,356, up Tk 50 from Tk 1,306. The new prices will take effect from 6:00pm on Monday, February 2.

Autogas prices have also been revised upward, with the per-litre rate increased to Tk 62.14 from Tk 59.80 for the current month.

In January, the regulator had raised the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder by Tk 53 and increased autogas prices by Tk 2.48 per litre.

The commission has also fixed prices for LPG cylinders of other sizes. Under the new rates, a 12.5-kg cylinder will cost Tk 1,413, a 15-kg cylinder Tk 1,696, a 16-kg cylinder Tk 1,809, an 18-kg cylinder Tk 2,035, a 20-kg cylinder Tk 2,260, and a 22-kg cylinder Tk 2,487.

For larger cylinders, prices have been set at Tk 2,826 for 25-kg, Tk 3,391 for 30-kg, Tk 3,731 for 33-kg, Tk 3,956 for 35-kg, and Tk 5,087 for a 45-kg LPG cylinder, according to the regulator.
